Summatimes is DevArtTimes, it's been like that since 8th grade and I'm no' gon'na chenge it naow. I am working all summer at the Naval War College (omg) from 6:00am - 5:30pm every weekday, and when I'm home the last thing I want to do is go on a computer, you must understand. Also I'll try to update mon journal now and then to give you a little hint of what's going on in my artistic life (crickets chirping) as if everyone is just staring at their computer screen day and night waiting for me to update or something.
Anyway, since graduation (graduation: noun, to "blow this popsicle stand") I have done...
...NOTHING.
WELL, that's not true. I've been devoting most of my free time to watching MGM musicals and writing lengthy reviews in my head for no reason whatsoever. Who cares what I think about Gigi or It's Always Fair Weather? (By the way, Gigi gets 3/10 stars, IAFW gets 7.5/10)
OMG GOING TO BUY CHESS IN CONCERT ADAM PASCAL ETC. CAN'T FREAKING WAIT TO LISTEN TO IT
I have been thinking about some musicals I want to make, too. One being an original twisted fairy-tale, another being the musical versions of a play and a movie. Strictly small-town-type projects for now, don't sue me yet. Also I've been re-organizing some old stories by generally flipping them upside-down and shaking them excessively to see what falls out of them. Also I decided to make my first-ever sequel, and already it's destined to be the most spectacular box-office failure since Ferngully II.
Drawing-wise I haven't been doing much but tiny sketches of things for the plays, along with more storyboards for the screenplay "Casper and Pavelon" which I'm never ever ever going to start. Let's just put it this way: I have a lot of projects, plenty of motivation, and absolutely no will power. Story of my life.
I'm uploading some stuff into my scrap-pile if you wanna look, but until soon, ta-ta.
Mmmf.

"lost in time, and lost in space..."
Hohoho.
I did enjoy it quite a bit, but your outstanding praise and infatuation with it I do not share. Hahah. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was damned good, but not something I find obsession-worthy, if yah feel me. But, then again, I'm not really the type to obsess like that in the first place. >_>

My praise and infatuation with it comes purely from my obsession with the design of the movie, setting, and characters. By my personal taste it's a dream come true. Floppy rag dolls, machines, factories, beautiful barren landscapes, and the expressions and movement of the characters are what had me obsessed from the very beginning. And then on top of that, Ro and I have these funny made-up joke-plots we keep futzing around with. No, I don't think the movie by my "real" standards was very good at all. But I can't help being so in love with it. You know how some things just are.

"lost in time, and lost in space..."
The funny part about all of this is that the visuals are what made me like it, too. Or, what were, rather, the best part of it, in my opinion. Mmmm.
I'm trying to think of what I might like in that way. I know there ARE things, but I can't quite recall them! Ah well. Suffice to say I know where you're coming from.

I didn't know the version of the song they were dancing to was the creepy version from the new broadway cast, I thought it was the movie version.
If you want, you can watch the song I thought was in the routine.

Still I think they did a great job.
